1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-8
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
Have you ever heard the statement “You need to walk in love?”
Well many times when it is being preached, people get confused because it carries such a wide spectrum of meaning to it.
When we get mad at people and tell them continuously “YOU NEED TO WALK IN LOVE, JUST WALK IN LOVE!!”
It’s kind of like telling someone in baseball who is having trouble hitting the ball- “HIT THE BALL! YOU’VE GOTTA HIT THE BALL!!, JUST HIT IT!”
He understands that he needs to hit the ball, but maybe there is some assessment that needs to be done underneath the surface to see what’s hindering him from doing it successfully.
Maybe the player has good balance, range and sense of timing, but being a good coach and watching replays at home, the coach sees that the players hip is leaning the wrong way and that’s what’s causing him to be off.
The same goes for Love.
Maybe you are patient, kind and not jealous…but you're easily provoked and very touchy.
Take one area that you’d like to see some improvement in and focus solely on the area for a while.
