YOU CAN’T DRIVE A PARKED CAR
Establish my steps and direct them by means of Your Word. –Psalm 119:133
Have you ever had the question--
“How do I know what God wants me to do with my life?”
Some people spend many years being totally immobile because they are waiting to hear a booming voice from Heaven telling them what to do.
If you’re in this position, I encourage you to even just do something.
- Do what you think God might be calling you to do and if you make a mistake, it’s not the end of the world. He will help you correct it.
- Don’t spend your life so afraid of making a mistake that you never do anything or try to obey what you believe God has spoken to you.
There is a saying that goes something like this: "It’s easier to steer a boat when it’s maneuvering in water than when it’s tied down to the dock."
You need to be moving if you want God to show you which way to go. He has no need to say “Turn left”, if you’re not going anywhere. But if you are moving, it’s easier for Him to at least give you directions.
But also let me just say this. There are certain times when we need to be still, wait on God, pray and not take immediate action. But that does not apply to every situation.
There are times when the only way we can discover God’s will is to get moving in a certain direction and let Him speak to us and lead us as we go!
TODAY:
If your life has just been sitting still lately, ask God for direction and start moving, trusting that He will show you the best path to take, guiding you along the way!
