Your Advocate Is Already Paid For

 
"Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect when it is God Who justifies, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen?"

ROMANS 8:33

The Holy Spirit is our advocate.

If we trace the word advocate back to the original meaning in Biblical Greek, we find that He is called to come to our aid; He is appointed by God to assist us, come to our defense, or plead our cause.

• The Holy Spirit is literally called to our side to give us aid in every way.

• When we need to be defended, He defends us, acting as a legal assistant would for a client.

It is good to know that you don’t always have to defend yourself when you are accused of some wrong action or motive. You can ask for God for help and expect to receive it because He is your advocate. That thought alone should bring you comfort & encouragement!

Most of us spend a great deal of time and energy trying to defend our reputations, our positions, our actions, our words, our decisions and ourselves.

   
But it's just a waste of time.

When others judge you, you may finally after much effort convince them of the purity of your heart. But the problem lies in the fact that if they're judgmental in nature or character, they will quickly find something else to judge you for.

The best course of action is for us to pray and let the Holy Spirit do His job and be our Advocate and Defense.
