THE 5 BIGGEST REGRETS
OF PEOPLE ON THEIR DEATH BEDS
I recently heard about an interesting study that a nurse had done. It started out just as a blog article, but after much shown interest, the blog grew in to a book. In the book, the nurse writes about people's stories. But not just anyone, she writes from the perspective of someone who is facing the end of the road here on Earth.
Sometimes we do not fully see the value in something until it is gone. Unfortunately, this goes true with life in general. With each by passing day, it's easy to feel routine like...but when your days are taken away from you, you realize how precious each one really is.
1. Un-accomplished dreams:
This is the most common. Most people said they now have to live with the fact that they didn't even accomplish half the things they had wanted and dreamed. They should have set clear goals.
2. Worked too hard:
Worked too much, and didn't spend enough time with their children and wife. They missed out on seeing their kids grow up and all the other joys that being present offers.
3. Had the backbone to say no:
Their lives were constantly dictated by others. Afraid to say no, because they wanted to please everyone around them, which resulted in the person becoming bitter because in the end they just felt walked on and taken advantage of.
4. Made more effort in friendships:
Sadly, people said that this is the place where they really realized the importance of friendship. Being alone at a hospital bed....wasn't very much fun. Cherish your friendships and pour as much of yourself into them as you can.
5. Allowed themselves to be happier:
Many people didn't understand until the end that joy is actually a decision you can make. The only thing that should ever dictate your attitude...is YOU. Not you surroundings, not what happens in the world.
TODAY:
Enjoy each moment.
Let's live life with passion for God and everything He has given us.
